Vertigo Drop Seeder
Vertigo™ is the first and only gravity seeder where all parts have been designed and manufactured from the start for its intended purpose. It works with Paperpot Trays and Winstrip trays, with multiple configurations for different seeds and tray cell amounts.
Choose the right options for you:
1.) Decide which tray type you would like to use the Vertigo Drop Seeder for: Paperpot or Winstrip. The Vertigo frame works with either but requires different plates.
2.) You will need the Bottom Plate for your tray type. Bottom plates are static and only one is needed for each tray layout. For the paperpot system there is just one type. However for the Winstrip system you will need one bottom tray for each tray configuration i.e. 72 cell, 128 cell etc.
3.) Select your Top Plates - The top plate captures the seeds and holds them before you drop them into the trays. It comes in many combinations of tray type (paperpot or winstrip), cell number (paperpot, Winstrip 50, 72,128,200,288), plate thickness (1.5mm - 5mm), and seed hole size (1.5mm-6mm). You will need multiple top plates for different seed sizes and tray configurations.
4.) Decide whether a starter kit for Paperpot or Winstrip would work for you, and add any accessories you might like such as the Vertigo Drop Seeder Stand. All are below.

Vertigo™ Top Plate Sizes
It is always best to measure your seeds as sizes can vary widely from different suppliers and batches.
To singulate seed, you want to match the seed hole to loosely the size of a single seed. You want the hole to only fit one seed with a little wiggle room.
The seed hole size has two dimensions 1) the plate thickness or height and 2) the seed hole diamter.
For multiple seeds, you can figure out volume of the seed hole using this formula - volume = π r² h

The below downloadable chart is meant only as a general guide. It is always best to measure your seeds as sizes and shapes can vary widely from different varieties, suppliers, and batches. As a general rule, the rounder the seed the better when singulating is preferred, so when possible pelleted seed should be used.

2.) Seed tray using the Vertigo™ Seeder with a Paperpot Bottom.
