Use vine weevil nematodes to avoid damage to the roots of your plants this year. The nematodes seek out and kill vine weevil larvae. Applying these microscopic transparent worms (Heterorhabditis megidis) which feed and multiply inside the larva, they not visible with a hand lens.
When to Apply Vine Weevil Nematodes: Apply when the larvae are active in late Spring and early Autumn. High infestations may need two applications.Autumn use is the most effective as the larvae are younger and have not caused significant damage to plants at that time. Banding pots with Insect Barrier Glue will stop the adults climbing into the pots.
How to Apply Vine Weevil Nematodes:The nematodes come complete with instructions and can be applied using a watering can or nematode applicator. You just apply to moist soil when the soil temperature is above 5ºC (41ºF) and ensure the soil does not dry out for at least two weeks after applying nematodes. Nematodes are capable of surviving the odd frost; so don't worry if the temperature falls after you have applied the nematodes.
How Often Do I Apply Vine Weevil Nematodes: The manufacturer recommends that nematodes are applied every 6 weeks.

Please note Nematodes are live material and cannot be returned. They will usually have an expiry date of around 2 weeks. The effectiveness can sometimes vary due to external factors.
